I am a firm believer that children's ministry is not babysitting. Children are a gift from God and we as parents have been entrusted with discipling them. I believe it is the church's job to come along side and encourage parents in that task, not to take that task off their hands. We are only given so many hours at church with these children, so we must be intentional about how that time is spent.

It is because of that that discipleship at FBCO begins in the nursery and builds on that foundation all the way through 5th grade using age appropriate curriculum. I believe that children must be taught to "live saved" rather than just "be saved."  It is our desire that children grow in their knowledge and understanding of Christ through each lesson that is brought to them. Sundays mornings are spent in age-appropriate classes worshipping God through Bible lessons, crafts, games and songs. Wednesdays we run an AWANA club to deepen kids knowledge of God's Word while getting pretty crazy sometimes.  Kids' Night Out is a great time for parents to catch their breath, while kids have some fun and enjoy a special night including dinner, dessert, movie, games & more! We are truly blessed by the opportunity to come alongside parents and help in whatever way we can.
